Commemorative Chinese New Year Installation

IMPRESSIVE INSTALLATION EVOKING THE YEAR OF THE HORSE

Dedicated to the Chinese New Year, this striking installation features several points of interest, immediately highlighted by a vibrant horse symbolising the zodiac sign that governs 2026, as well as an emblematic Chinese archway and an iconic life-sized peach tree.

Visitors can admire an installation composed of approximately 80 illuminated lanterns and numerous Chinese ornaments displayed throughout the Art Gallery. The celebration of this special occasion is also evident at the main entrance of Casino Lisboa, where elements of the installation decorate the revolving door.

Last Tuesday, on the 17th, the “Lunar New Year” officially began — a date celebrated in China, across East Asia, and by many communities around the world.

On Saturday, the 21st, from 3:00 pm, precisely at opening time, Casino Lisboa will officially inaugurate its commemorative programme with several ancient Chinese New Year traditions, including the “Incense Ceremony”, the “Roast Pig Ritual”, and the emblematic “Lion Dance”.

Filled with rhythm, colour, and animation, the ancestral “Lion Dance” will move through various leisure spaces and gaming areas in three moments throughout the day, allowing all visitors to experience this iconic performance at 3:15 pm, 8:30 pm, and 11:30 pm, in a festive atmosphere celebrating Chinese culture and tradition.
