AFTER SELLING OUT ITS RUN AT TEATRO DO BAIRRO FROM THE VERY FIRST WEEK, KING LEAR WILL EXTEND ITS JOURNEY IN LISBON!

Based on the work by William Shakespeare, translated by Álvaro Cunhal and directed by António Pires, King Lear tells the story of an ageing monarch who decides to divide his kingdom among his three daughters, hoping to withdraw from rule while retaining the authority and reverence of all.

By demanding public declarations of devotion, he sets in motion a political game that quickly turns against him. Stripped of power and betrayed by the very alliances he believed to be secure, Lear wanders through a world that no longer belongs to him. Amid the storm and ruin, he discovers too late the fragility of power and of the human condition itself.

The show features an extraordinary cast of actors, including Adriano Luz, André Ramos, Carolina Campanela, Cláudio da Silva, Crista Alfaiate, Dinarte Branco, Dinis Gomes, Francisco Vistas, Gonçalo Norton, Hugo Mestre Amaro, Jaime Baeta, João Barbosa, Marcello Urgeghe, Rodrigo Machado and Sofia Marques.
